Joe Woods

Joe Woods has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Their most recent position is as the Head of Engineering, US at Fastmail, starting in October 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Client Application Development Lead, a Client Application Development Lead, and a Client Application Developer at Fastmail. In these roles, they were responsible for application development in JavaScript, project planning, employee management, and updating and developing development tools, application specifications, and documentation. Joe also assisted with marketing initiatives.

Before joining Fastmail, Joe worked at IntuitSolutions as a Full Stack Developer, where they focused on eCommerce integrations and applications using PHP and JavaScript. Joe also handled hardware and infrastructure duties. Prior to that, at Virginia Commonwealth University, they served as a Digital Specialist, managing the digital production unit and leading a team of digitization technicians. Joe supported open access and digital publishing initiatives.

Joe's work experience also includes a role as a Lead Teacher at Youth Digital, where they taught video game design to primary education students and managed a team of instructors. Overall, Joe has demonstrated expertise in application development, project management, team leadership, and digital production.

Joe Woods completed their Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from Virginia Commonwealth University between 2010 and 2014. Joe later pursued a Master's Degree in the same field from the same university, graduating between 2014 and 2016.
