Ashley Zehnder

Ashley Zehnder has a diverse work experience in the field of veterinary research and clinical practice. Ashley is currently the co-founder and CEO of FaunaBio, a role they have held since 2018. Prior to this, they worked at Stanford University where they served as a Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow. In these roles, they focused on building veterinary data resources to improve cancer research and worked on aligning veterinary data sharing with similar efforts in human healthcare. Ashley also completed a PhD in Cancer Biology at Stanford, where their research focused on altered signaling pathways in cancer and investigating novel therapeutics in human and animal cancers. Before their time at Stanford, they worked as a Resident at UC Davis VMTH, where they had primary clinical responsibilities for companion exotic species and conducted clinical research in cancer and anesthesiology. Ashley also had a volunteer role at Middletown Animal Clinic.

Ashley Zehnder completed their education in a chronological order. From 2001 to 2005, they attended the University of Florida and obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with a field of study in Veterinary Medicine. Following that, they pursued further education at Stanford University from 2009 to 2015. There, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Oncology and Cancer Biology. It is worth mentioning that Ashley Zehnder also holds an additional certification in Avian Practice from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
