The Fayette County Sheriff's Office services a rural community of between 28,000 and 29,000.  Fayette County is located south of Columbus, north of Cincinnati and east of Dayton, centrally located to all three major cities.  Interstate Route 71 runs through Fayette County and along that route you'll find the Tanger Outlets, Jeffersonville, Ohio which attracts many visitors.  

Vernon P. Stanforth, Sheriff has been the Sheriff in Fayette County since 1997.  He continues to provide strong leadership for the office today.  The Sheriff's Office prides itself in being proactive in approaches to improve technology while still staying within budgets.  The Sheriff encourages community involvement and welcomes suggestions. The top priority of the office is safety for the citizens of Fayette County. 

Fayette County has its own Jail and Communications Center all run under the direction of Sheriff Stanforth.
