Hans Thorgren

Hans Thorgren is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and military operations. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at the Folke Bernadotte Academy since March 2021, Hans has previously held significant roles such as Political Counsellor for the European External Action Service in Colombia and Head of DDR Programmes at both the Folke Bernadotte Academy and the Swedish National Defence College. Hans has also contributed to various United Nations missions, including roles as Military Liaison Officer and Military Observer in Guatemala and El Salvador. With a career in the Swedish Armed Forces that began in 1977 and includes positions at the Norrbotten and Jämtland Rifle Regiments, Hans complements military expertise with academic qualifications from institutions such as Stockholm University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
