Following their undergraduate studies, Mark continued their education at Carnegie Mellon University, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemical Engineering. This degree was obtained between 1978 and 1980. Impelled by their passion for the subject, Mark decided to further specialize in Chemical Engineering and pursued a PhD at Carnegie Mellon University. Mark successfully completed their doctoral studies from 1980 to 1983.
