Charles Choi

Senior Leader, National Security Branch at Federal Bureau of Investigation

Charles Choi has extensive experience in national security and legal roles, currently serving as a Senior Leader in the National Security Branch and Chief of the Forensic Science Law Unit at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) since October 2018. Prior to this, Charles held the position of Director for Watchlisting and Identity Intelligence at the National Security Council within the Executive Office of the President from September 2017 to October 2018. Charles's tenure at the FBI spans from April 2005 to September 2017, during which time notable roles included Chief Counsel for the Terrorist Screening Center and Chief of the Counterterrorism Law Unit. Earlier in career, Charles served as a Legal Advisor for the U.S. Department of Justice and held various legal positions in the U.S. Army. Academically, Charles earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and a Bachelor of Arts in History and East Asian Studies from Indiana University Bloomington.
