Chris Bavender

Chris Bavender is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in public affairs and media relations. Currently serving as a Public Affairs Officer for the Federal Bureau of Investigation since April 2017, Chris is a member of the FBI Office of Public Affairs Media Fly Team for National Critical Incident deployment. Previous roles include Public Information Officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Communications Director for the City of Indianapolis Public Safety Department, and Marketing Director at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP. In addition to a career in public service, Chris has worked as a freelance writer for various publications and served as Broadcast Journalism Coordinator at Franklin College. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Ball State University, where also held positions such as Director of the News Research Institute and Managing Editor/Anchor for NewsLink Indiana.
