Teresa L. Carlson has extensive experience with the FBI, serving in various leadership roles, including Deputy Assistant Director and Special Agent in Charge, where significant accomplishments include overseeing the FBI's investigation of the Sikh Temple mass casualty shooting in 2012. Carlson also held the position of Section Chief in the National Security Branch, which was established post-9/11 to consolidate the Bureau's national security efforts. Other notable roles include overseeing white-collar and cyber crimes in the New York Office during the Bureau's transformation to an intelligence-led agency, supervising white-collar crime investigations in northern Alabama, and analyzing employee appeals of sanctions to enhance the integrity of the Bureau's disciplinary process. Prior to the FBI, Carlson served as a Law Clerk for the Michigan Legislative Service Bureau, providing constitutional legal advice. Educationally, Carlson holds a Juris Doctorate from Cooley Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University, along with ongoing studies at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and Northeastern University.
