Brad Thavenet has extensive experience in emergency response and management, currently serving as a member of the FEMA/US&R National Incident Support Team since November 2016. In this role, Brad oversees ESF-9 resources and incident management in collaboration with various federal, state, local, and tribal agencies. Additionally, as Program Manager for FEMA/US&R Nebraska Task Force 1, responsibilities include selecting, training, and deploying task force members to respond to incidents as outlined in the National Response Framework. Brad has been a Corporate Trainer for Dive Rescue International since 2004, instructing emergency responders in water rescue techniques and other specialized skills. Since 2000, Brad has also held various leadership positions within Lincoln Fire and Rescue, currently serving as Battalion Chief of Urban Search & Rescue, overseeing hazardous materials and water rescue operations. Educationally, Brad holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Bachelor's degree in Statistics and Finance from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
