Emily Beard

Emily Beard currently serves as the Managing Attorney for the SPP and FPA West Group in the Office of General Counsel - Energy Markets at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), a position held since January 2022. Prior to this role, Emily was an Attorney-Advisor to Commissioners Judy Chang and Allison Clements at FERC and worked as an Associate at Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP. Previous experience includes roles at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation as Associate Counsel, various legal internships, and clerkships with judges in the South Carolina Judicial Department. Emily holds a Juris Doctor in Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law from Vermont Law and Graduate School, an LL.M. in Energy and Environmental Law from The George Washington University Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from The University of Georgia.
