Mark Hegerle serves as the Director of the Division of Engineering and Logistics at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) since June 1987, focusing on reliability performance and the impacts of electricity markets on bulk power system reliability. Previously, Mark held several key positions at FERC, including Director of the Division of Operations and Planning Standards and Director of the Division of Compliance within the Office of Electric Reliability, overseeing adherence to mandatory standards and conducting audits and analyses of compliance violations. Mark also served as a Legislative Fellow for U.S. Senator James M. Talent from February 2005 to March 2006, where responsibilities included advising on electricity and energy legislation, drafting portions of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, and representing the Senator in various meetings. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mineral Economics from Penn State University, earned between 1983 and 1987.
