Martina Buchinger

Martina Buchinger is a Senior Policy Officer at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) since December 2022. Prior experience includes roles as Institutional Partnerships Coordinator and Interim Funding Advisor at Oxfam from March 2020 to October 2022, and Junior Expert in Programme Support and Institutional Donor Relations at Welthungerhilfe between March 2018 and February 2020. Martina's career began with an internship in Transitional Development Assistance at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in late 2017, following a position as a Student Research Assistant at the University of Konstanz in 2015-2016 under Junior Prof. Michael Becher. Earlier experience also includes internships at CARE Österreich Verein für Entwicklungszusammenarbeit in 2014 and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Nairobi from 2013 to 2014. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Politics and Administration from the University of Konstanz, an exchange program in International Affairs at Sciences Po, and a Bachelor of Arts in Internationale Entwicklung from the University of Vienna.
