Abe Copi

Abe Copi is an experienced attorney currently serving as an Assistant Federal Public Defender since August 2022. Prior to this role, Abe Copi worked as an Assistant Public Defender in the Appellate and Post-Conviction Relief Office with the Missouri State Public Defender from September 2019 to August 2022, representing clients in felony direct appeals and state post-conviction relief cases. Abe Copi's legal education includes a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Iowa College of Law, where involvement included positions such as Academic Director for the Moot Court Program and Certified Law Student Practitioner, advocating for clients in federal criminal cases. Additional experience includes a Prosecuting Intern role at the Sangamon County State's Attorney's Office and a Community Coordinator/Assistant Hall Director position at Truman State University, where Abe Copi managed operations for a residence hall.
