Thomas Walstrum

Thomas Walstrum is a seasoned economist with extensive experience at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where roles have included Principal Business Economist, Senior Business Economist, Business Economist, and Research Assistant since September 2010. Walstrum completed a PhD in Economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago from August 2009 to July 2015, focusing on labor, urban, and regional economics. Additional experience includes research assistant positions at the Taxpayers' Federation of Illinois and the National Community Investment Fund, an internship at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, quality assurance work in software, volunteering in France, and serving as a Network Operations Center Technician at Globalcom. Walstrum holds a BA in Economics from Wheaton College, earned from 2001 to 2005.
