Yaira Velez is a banking compliance and risk management professional who currently serves as the Assistant Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Yaira has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including previous positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Sheshunoff Management Services, LLC, and The Bank & Trust of PR.
As a Consumer Affairs manager for the Supervision & Risk Management Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Ms. Velez led examiners in conducting bank examinations to assess the level of compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations, as well as the effectiveness of their compliance risk management programs.
In their role as Senior Consultant at Sheshunoff Management Services, Ms. Velez provided compliance consulting services to clients in the banking and credit union industries.

Ms. Velez has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master's degree in Banking and Financial Services from St. Mary's University.
