Santiago Pinto

Santiago Pinto is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in various academic and policy-oriented roles. Currently, Santiago serves as a Senior Economist and Policy Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, where employment began in August 2012, following previous positions as a Senior Policy Economist and Research Economist. Prior to their tenure at the Federal Reserve, Santiago held the position of Associate Professor in Economics at West Virginia University from August 2002 to May 2012 and was a Visiting Professor at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University from August 2001 to May 2002. Santiago Pinto earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, completing the degree in 2001.
