Michael Fernandez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Michael started their career at Bank of America as a Customer Service Manager and worked there for five years. Michael then joined the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and took on various leadership positions. These roles include being the Manager of Currency Verification, Assistant Manager of Currency Verification, Senior Project Analyst, Operations Supervisor, Manager of Statistics, Director of STAR CBAF and STAR Modernization Project Manager, Director of Regulatory Reporting & Reserves Administration, Vice President of STAR Automation Manager and Shared Support Services, Group Vice President of Data Insights + Analytics, and currently, they are serving as the Senior Vice President (Interim) of Operations + Safety. In these positions, Michael has overseen different functions such as police services, cash services, facilities management, workplace experience, data insights + analytics, and regulatory reporting. Michael has also managed teams, implemented projects, and collaborated with senior management across the Federal Reserve System and the Board of Governors.
Michael Fernandez received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, between 1997 and 2000. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Finance at Saint Mary's College of California from 2004 to 2006. In addition, they obtained a certification in "Unconscious Bias" from LinkedIn in the year 2020.
