Ahmed Mohammed

Ahmed Mohammed attended Kofar Kudu Primary School from 1976 to 1982 and proceeded to Government Junior Secondary School Kofar Nassarawa from 1982 to 1985 for his Senior Secondary Education Ahmed attended Rumfa College Kano between 1985 to 1988, He equally holds Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from Kano State College of Education, Kumbotso, from 1990 to 1993 he stated his caree as class room teacher from November 1994, In the year 1995 to 1998 he obtained Bachelor degree in Library Science /Sociology and served his one year mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC) in British Council, Kano office and worked for a year there as library assistant between 1999-2000 later moved to the Center for Research and Documentation (CRD) Kano, a Non-governmental organization based in Kano state as Librarian. While working, Ahmed joined the Master degree programe between 2002 and 2006 where he obtained Master of Library Science degree and later in 2006 he joined the service of Kano State Polytechnic as Principal Librarian for the period of three years. Having completed Master degree he later transferred his service to Bayero University, Kano as lecturer from 18th January, 2007 and raised up to the rank of senior lecturer. In the year 2016 he obtained Ph.D in Library Science with specialization in (Information Science) from Bayero University, Kano. Ahmed Mohammed is a practitioner and educator, he is a Certified Librarian of Nigeria by the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and he is a member of professional bodies such as Nigerian Library Association (NLA), National Association of Library Educators (NALISE), Associate member Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) Ahmed presented a number of papers at National and International Conferences, Workshops and Seminars. To his credit he published widely in peer review journals and chapters in many books. His Areas of Research Interest includes Agricultural Information; Scholarly and Communication Sciences, ICTs, ICTs Applications in Libraries, Information Resources Sharing and Networks, Management of academic library and Emerging Technologies. On the 10th April, 2021 to be precise Ahmed was appointed by the able Council of Federal University Dutse as its second substantive University Librarian.
