Mark P. Newton

Mark Newton serves as the University Librarian at Boston University since June 2019, with responsibilities that have included ad interim leadership roles and overseeing digital strategies and innovations. Previously, Mark held various positions at Columbia University from November 2011 to June 2019, including Director of Digital Scholarship and interim Director of the Center for Digital Research and Scholarship. Additional experience includes the role of Digital Collections Librarian at Purdue University from June 2008 to October 2011 and a Research Assistant position at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mark holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor of Arts in English, both from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
