Zachary Walters has work experience starting from 2013 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Seattle University, where they performed nucleic acid extraction and PCR on target genes in freshwater algae and used software to perform analysis of sequence data. In 2017, they worked at San Diego State University as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they developed and implemented pipelines for analysis of untargeted metabolomics datasets and developed data visualization applications. From 2020, they started working at Federation Bio as a Contract Research Associate in Bioinformatics, where they performed data analysis, software development, and data management in support of research and development for microbiome and oncology programs. Zachary also led the implementation and maintenance of Benchling ELN/LIMS in collaboration with research and development teams, and supported regulatory filings through analysis of IND-enabling and clinical studies. At Federation Bio, they progressed to the Research Associate II role in Bioinformatics from June 2021, and is currently employed in this position.
Zachary Walters earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Seattle University in 2015. Zachary then went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) in Bioinformatics from San Diego State University between the years 2017 and 2019.
