John Whitmer

John Whitmer is an experienced educational technology professional with a strong background in data science and analytics. As the Founder and Senior Research Scientist at Learning Data Insights, LLC, John leads efforts to provide consulting services focused on building evidence of impact in education technology. As an Impact Fellow at the Federation of American Scientists and Senior Advisor at The Learning Agency, John engages with federal agencies and educational projects, promoting data science and machine learning applications. Previous roles include Senior Director of Data Science and Analytics at ACT, Director for Analytics and Research at Anthology, and Program Manager at California State University, where John consistently utilized statistical analysis and machine learning to enhance educational outcomes. John holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of California, Davis, alongside a Master’s in Anthropology and a Bachelor’s in Philosophy.
