Laurent Debart

Laurent Debart has an extensive work experience spanning several industries. Laurent has held various roles in different companies, showcasing their skills in business development, leadership, and management. Laurent's most recent position was as the Director of Global Business Development at Fednav Limited, where they were responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the company on a global scale. Prior to that, they worked at BRS Brokers as a Projects & Newbuilding specialist, focusing on zero emissions ships and fuel cells. Laurent also served as the Chief Executive Officer at YPI | Yachting Partners International, where they successfully turned the company around through staff recruitment, overseas office management, and marketing efforts. Laurent even took a sabbatical leave to captain a sailboat and explore different parts of the world. Before that, Laurent held key positions at BRS Shipbrokers, where they played a crucial role in expanding their activities in Singapore and China. Laurent also worked at GCiS China Strategic Research as a Partner, and at LSR Electronics Beijing as the Managing Director. Laurent's early career includes experiences in the French Navy and in the restaurant industry, where they were involved in managerial and partnership roles. Laurent Debart obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese Language and Literature from SOAS University of London between the years 1990 and 1995. In 1991-1992, they also received a Chinese certificate from Beijing Normal University. In 2011, Laurent earned a degree in Finance from INSEAD, with a focus on FFE. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Business Strategy from Wharton: Competitive Advantage, Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn, a Private Pilot License from the Flying Club of Montpellier, France, and an Offshore Yachtmaster certification from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). Laurent is currently pursuing a certification in Sustainable Soil Management: Soil for life from Wageningen University & Research, to be completed in December 2023.
