Wendy Cross

Professor Wendy Cross is a transformational leader, who as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), is focused on developing our vision and strategy across the University’s disciplines and vocational education.

Professor Cross is leading our work to use an evidence-based approach to developing new and re-imagined programs, which respond to the future demands of industry and our communities, and extend workplace learning across all of our programs.

As Dean of the School of Health, Wendy was instrumental in the revitalisation of the School’s Nursing and Allied Health programs.

Wendy has a strong national and international reputation across multiple domains: nursing, mental health, education, workforce, leadership, workplace learning and simulation. Wendy is the current Chair of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council, is a former Commissioner for the National Mental Health Commission Advisory Board, was a Ministerial Appointee to the Board of Chisholm Institute of TAFE and joined us in 2018 from Monash University.

Wendy is an experienced academic with in-depth understanding of high-quality pedagogical practice at all education levels, including online learning and accompanying digital and technology enhanced learning pedagogies. Such experience provides a competitive edge in the post-COVID university landscape.
