Aliya Jiwani

Aliya Jiwani has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Aliya'smost recent position is with Feeding America, where they started in 2018. Aliya has held roles such as Director, Public Benefits Access, Senior Manager, and Manager in the same company. In their role, they work on strategic development and management of capacity building efforts with food banks to increase access to and enrollment in public benefits programs like SNAP. Prior to this, Aliya worked as a Program Manager and Senior Program Associate at Feeding America.

Before joining Feeding America, Aliya worked as an Independent Research and Evaluation Consultant on a freelance basis from 2015 to 2019. Aliya also worked at the University of California, San Francisco as a Research Associate from 2010 to 2014. Aliya'srole involved collaborating with researchers on cost-effectiveness analyses of global and domestic health policy issues.

Aliya also has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Cell Biology & Genetics from The University of British Columbia, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained a certification in Dare to Lead Training from Dare to Lead™ Trained in 2023.
