Dru Montri

Vice President Of Agri Food Engagement at Feeding America

Dru Montri has extensive work experience, starting in 2006 as the Executive Director of the Michigan Farmers Market Association. In this role, they provided overall leadership to the association by managing staff and volunteers, developing financial practices, promoting Michigan farmers and farmers markets, and advocating for supportive policies at the state and federal levels. Dru also conducted research projects and provided market evaluation services.

In 2007, Dru became a Co-owner and Managing Member of Ten Hens Farm, where they focused on season extension, year-round sales to restaurants, and participating in the Bath Farmers Market. Dru'sresponsibilities included managing employees, overseeing field and hoophouse production, crop selection and planning, financial co-management, and farmers market vending.

Dru later joined Michigan State University in January 2018 as the Director of Governmental Affairs and Stakeholder Relations for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) and the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). In this role, they served as a liaison between the colleges and government officials, managing relationships and advocating for their interests. Dru'stenure with Michigan State University ended in December 2021.

Most recently, Dru joined Feeding America in November 2021 as the Vice President of Agri Food Engagement. Details about their role at Feeding America have not been provided.

Dru Montri earned a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture with a focus on Applied Horticulture/Horticulture Operations, General from Michigan State University in 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Horticulture from Penn State University from 2003 to 2005. Finally, Dru obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Horticulture and Community, Agriculture, Recreation, and Resource Studies from Michigan State University between 2006 and 2012.
