Wayne Melichar

Wayne Melichar currently serves as the Senior Director of Food Safety at Feeding America, a position held since July 2012, where responsibilities include managing the third-party food safety audit program, developing educational materials, and providing technical assistance to network members. Previously, Wayne worked as an Environmental Health Practitioner for the City of Evanston in early 2012 and spent over a decade at Buffets, Inc. as a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, overseeing food safety compliance across 110 restaurants. Earlier career experience includes serving as a Registered Sanitarian at the DuPage County Health Department. Wayne holds a Master of Science in Food Safety from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Western Illinois University.
