Laura Scharmer Bocinsky

Laura Scharmer Bocinsky is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in operations and international relations within the nonprofit sector. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Operations and International Relations for FOCUS Missions since August 2014, Laura oversees relationships with mission trip hosts across 48 countries and manages the quality of 150 mission trips involving more than 2,500 participants. Laura leads a team of 15, conducts training for mission trip leaders, and has successfully planned annual training in Mexico. Previously, Laura held the role of Program Manager at FOCUS Missions, coaching employees and facilitating mission trips to various countries. Laura also served as a Team Director at FOCUS, focusing on expanding student involvement in Catholic ministry at Columbia University. Before joining FOCUS, Laura completed an administrative internship at the Nashville International Center for Empowerment, supporting immigrants and refugees. Laura holds a Master’s degree in International Development from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s degree in Human & Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University.
