Geoff Lillis has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of technology and engineering. Geoff started their career at Merrill Lynch as a Systems Administrator, where they provided support and automation services to clients and was responsible for an XP SP2 migration project. After that, Geoff worked at Bank of Ireland as a Contract Technical Analyst, where they played a crucial role in the bank's infrastructure upgrade program. Geoff analyzed and documented software, resolved compatibility issues, and ensured the successful deployment of new technology.
Following their time at Bank of Ireland, Geoff joined Bank of Ireland Life as a Lead Technical Analyst on a desktop refresh project. Geoff led a team of analysts, analyzed unsupported applications, and provided guidance to the development team on release management procedures.
Geoff then moved on to Bank of America, where they served as an AVP - Release Engineer, Application Support, and Infrastructure Projects. Geoff'smain responsibilities included automating deployments, supporting cultural change, and implementing DevOps practices.
Currently, Geoff is working at Fenergo as a Security Engineering Lead. Geoff leads a team of engineers and focuses on developing, testing, and deploying software with a strong emphasis on security. Geoff sees their move into security as a natural evolution of their passion for DevOps and eliminating low-value work.
