Lourdes Urban-Alandete, Ph.D.

New Product Development Manager at Fenn Foods

Lourdes Urban-Alandete, Ph.D. has a wealth of experience in research and development. Lourdes began their career in 2007 as a Research Assistant at Cordoba University's Reina Sofia's Hospital. In 2011, they took on a Research Assistant role at the IIT Institute for Food Safety and Health, where they were actively involved in organizing and executing 3 human clinical studies, as well as the preparation of study documents and food preparation at metabolic kitchens. In 2012, they moved to INRAN_National Research Institute for Food and Nutrition as a Research Assistant. In 2014, they began their PhD in Food Science at The University of Queensland, where they supervised international student projects and tutored second year undergraduates. In 2016, they managed the team that won the 1st prize in the national AIFST competition for New Product Development. In 2018, they took on a role as an R&D Technologist at NU-MEGA INGREDIENTS, where they were responsible for new product development, applications development, and the organization of scale up production. Lourdes also held a Quality Assurance Coordinator role at Qantas in 2018. Currently, they are a New Product Development Manager at Fenn Foods.

Lourdes Urban-Alandete, Ph.D. received their Bachelor degree in Human Nutrition and Metabolism from Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2007. Lourdes then went on to receive their Master of Science in Nutrition and Metabolism from Universidad de Córdoba in 2009. Afterwards, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in 2011. Finally, they achieved their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Food Science from The University of Queensland in 2018.
