James' responsibilities include refining the business processes at the firm to provide better service to clients with increased efficiency, providing eDiscovery and compliance consulting and service to external clients and ensuring the security of data shared with the firm.

Fenwick has created an innovative culture to better serve our clients. It has built a number of data and process driven tools for managing collection of information and documents in anticipation of governmental inquiries and litigation. These tools help our clients reduce cost, increase efficiency and speed of working the Fenwick team and any outside consultants while maintaining security and the sanctity of attorney-client privilege.

James is the president of the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA). Prior to joining Fenwick, James was the director of infrastructure and administrative systems at a Global 50 law firm. He has 20 years of experience in various legal management roles. He joined Fenwick in 2016 as its director of information technology. James is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and was previously a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer + Internet.
