James Simpson, M.Ed., currently serves as a substitute teacher for all grades and subjects at Ferndale School District No. 502 since September 2017, following a distinguished career in educational consulting and instructional design. Previously, James held positions as a Senior Learning Consultant and Media/Development Manager at Intrepid Learning, Inc., and as Team Lead for eLearning Course Development at Iron Mountain. Additionally, extensive experience includes working as an eLearning Instructional Designer and Instructor at Boeing, as well as serving as a Senior Application Engineer at Computervision. James earned a Master of Education in Adult and Continuing Education from City University of Seattle and holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Western Washington State College, along with an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Edmonds Community College.

Ferndale Schools is comprised of one high school, two middle schools and six elementary schools serving approximately 4700 students in grades preschool through twelve. In partnership with parents and our community, the district will educate each student to develop the knowledge, skills and character necessary to lead a self-reliant, socially responsible life.
