Gerald Beste

Gerald Beste is an accomplished biochemist with extensive experience in biotherapeutic engineering and molecular biology. Currently serving as Senior Director of Biotherapeutic Engineering at Ferring Pharmaceuticals since September 2021, Gerald has previously held significant roles including Director of Discovery and Associate Director of Molecular Biology at Ablynx from April 2008 to September 2021, as well as Head of Lead Isolation and Optimisation at Cambridge Antibody Technology from May 2005 to February 2008. Prior experience also includes serving as Director of Combinatorial Biology at Xerion Pharmaceuticals from December 1998 to March 2005. Gerald holds a Doctorate in Biochemistry with a focus on Protein Engineering from Technische Universität Darmstadt and a Diplom in Chemistry from The University of Freiburg, alongside a Vordiplom in Chemistry from The University of Bonn.
