Elena Tejero Hernandez

Elena Tejero Hernandez has extensive work experience in the field of internal audit and assurance. Elena began their career at Deloitte as an intern before moving on to PwC, where they held roles as an Audit Senior and later as an Audit Manager. During their time at PwC, they gained expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), SOX compliance, and internal control implementation. Elena also participated in the development of new services and the preparation of significant proposals. Elena then joined PwC UK as an Experienced Audit Manager, where they worked on audits for both listed and unlisted companies in various industries. Elena also took on responsibilities in human resources and led internal digitalization projects. Currently, Elena holds the position of Head of Internal Audit Spain and other markets at Ferrovial, where they are responsible for developing annual audit plans, leading audit projects, and implementing compliance models.

Elena Tejero Hernandez has a diverse education history. In 1999, they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Marketing from Universidad Loyola, where they studied until 2004. In 2001 and 2002, they pursued an European Master of Business Sciences (EMBS) at Université Jean Moulin (Lyon III). In 2015, they completed the Programa de gestión directiva (PGD) at IE Business School. Additionally, they hold various certifications, including a CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) from The Institute of Internal Auditors in 2018, and a Certified Public Accountant/Registro Oficial de Auditores de Cuentas (ROAC) from the Instituto de Contabilidad y Auditoría (ICAC) in 2009. Most recently, Elena obtained a Certificado Verificado de edX for the course Introduction to Data Analytics for Managers in 2020.
