Christine Nyirjesy Bragale

Director, Communications at FHI 360

Christine Nyirjesy Bragale is the Director of Communications at FHI 360. Christine has over 20 years of experience in global communications, marketing, and partnership development.

Christine started their career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, West Africa. Christine then worked for a variety of international development organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme, the World Bank Group, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. In December 2019, they joined The Kaizen Company as the Communications Director for USAID's Partnerships Incubator. In this role, they led communication and marketing efforts for the Incubator and the New Partnerships Initiative (NPI), an effort of the U.S. Agency for International Development to diversify its partner base and drive local leadership and ownership of development programs.

During their time at The Kaizen Company, Christine designed and executed a global communications strategy that raised awareness of NPI and the various services and resources of the Partnerships Incubator, built their reputation as a transformational initiative of USAID, and advanced the operationalization of NPI across the Agency. Through the creation and optimization of accessible and engaging content, including a significant refresh of the "Work with USAID" section of USAID.gov, they helped demystify the process of working with the Agency and deliver resources and tools for partners with little to no USAID experience. Christine also recruited and managed a consultant slate of content producers, including storytellers, editors, video producers, animators, marketers and designers. Christine oversaw production management and quality assurance of all deliverables.

In March 2021, Christine joined FHI 360 as the Director of Communications. In this role, they are responsible for strategic communications planning; media relations; digital communications; content development; and brand management. Christine is also responsible for organizational storytelling; thought leadership; issues management; crisis communications; and internal communications.

Their manager is Tessie San Martin, CEO. Some of their coworkers include Otto Chabikuli - Regional Director, East & Southern Africa Regional Office, Coy D. Isaacs - Director, Crisis Response, and Michael Mazza - Director, Information Solutions & Services.
