Laurel Stegina has extensive work experience in the field of project management, permitting, and field studies. Laurel is currently working at FHI Studio as a Senior Project Manager and Permitting and Field Studies Manager, a position they have held since July 2019. Prior to that, they held the role of Manager of Permitting & Field Studies at the same company. Laurel also worked at Fitzgerald & Halliday, Inc., where they were a Senior Project Manager starting in May 2016. Before that, they were a Principal Planner/Project Manager at the same company from July 2004 to April 2016. In addition to their professional roles, Laurel served as a Northeast Region Council Member at Women's Transportation Seminar from March 2016 to December 2018. Laurel also had a leadership position as the President of the Women's Transportation Seminar - Connecticut Valley Chapter from January 2008 to December 2010.

Laurel Stegina began their education in 1986 at Wesleyan University, where they pursued a B.A. in the Science in Society Program. Laurel successfully completed their degree in 1991. Later, from 1995 to 1999, Laurel attended Yale University to obtain an M.F. degree in Forestry and Environmental Studies. These two educational experiences shaped Laurel's background in both social sciences and environmental studies.
