Jabulani Dhliwayo has a long history of work experience. Jabulani began their career in 1985 as a Teacher at Chindunduma High School in Zimbabwe. In 1987, they became a Lecturer at Harare Polytechnic. In 1997, they moved to Yokogawa America Do Sul as a Test Engineer, where they provided customers with high quality application and sales engineering. In 1999, they joined Corning Incorporated as a Senior Research Scientist/Project Engineer, where they initiated and led research programs from conceptualization to prototype development. In 2004, they became a Market Development Manager and Product Line Manager at Corning Incorporated, where they were responsible for the development, manufacturing and marketing of Corning's bend optimized optical fiber for fiber to the home networks. In 2013, they founded Fiberguide, where they were the Founder and Technical Director, responsible for the planning and design of today's optical networks.
Jabulani Dhliwayo completed their PhD in Physics (Fiber Optics) from the University of Kent between 1994 and 1997. Prior to that, they obtained an M.sc in Physics from Laurentian University/Université Laurentienne between 1991 and 1993. Jabulani began their educational journey with a B.Sc in Physics, Maths and Education from the University of Sierra Leone (Njala) between 1981 and 1985.
