Todd Seeley

Sr. Director, Molecular Biology at FibroGen

Todd Seeley's work experience includes a role as Sr. Director, Molecular Biology at FibroGen starting in 1999. In this position, they were involved in R&D target discovery and validation, expression development, research protein expression and purification, as well as utilizing Affymetrix microarray technology, RNAseq, HTS QPCR expression profiling, and bioinformatics. Todd also worked on patient indication selection, pharmacogenomics, and toxicogenomics.

Prior to that, Seeley worked at Chiron Corporation as a Scientist II, Cancer Targets and Mechanisms starting in 1994. Here, they focused on cancer targets and mechanisms in the Rusty Williams lab, contributing to the identification of novel human cDNAs, tumor suppressor genes, and gene products. Seeley also utilized various techniques such as RACE, cDNA cloning, RT-PCR, Northern analysis, Q-PCR, and Chromosomal localization by Radiation Hybrid (RH) mapping.

Before joining Chiron Corporation, Seeley served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington from 1989 to 1994. Here, they worked in the Leland Hartwell lab and studied the role of cell cycle regulation in response to DNA damage in S. cerevisiae.

Todd Seeley received their Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics from the University of California, Davis, from the years 1978 to 1983. Todd then pursued a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, completing it from 1984 to 1989.
