Jens Schmiedel

Jens Schmiedel is a Senior Project Manager at Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG since April 2018, currently leading the technical planning for Regional teams 4&5 on the SuedLink project. Previously, Jens served as a Consulting Engineer at Lahmeyer International from January 2006 to March 2018, specializing in telecommunications and SCADA, with a significant assignment in Abuja, Nigeria. A Freelancing Engineer for Siemens in Sudan in 2005, Jens led an expatriate team and optimized the telecommunications network in Khartoum. Early career roles include Senior Operations Manager at Global Network Telephone, Operations Manager at Rapid Link, and Telecommunications Technician at Deutsche Telekom, beginning in 1987. Jens holds a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in Automation and Telecommunication from Hochschule Mannheim and an Abitur from Gymnasium Weinheim.
