Mel Hewitson

Mel Hewitson is an experienced director with a background in governance and strategy. Mel is currently an independent director at Fidelity Life Assurance Company Limited, and was previously the CEO of Global Women.

Mel has a long history of involvement with various organisations. Mel was a founding member of the Domain Name Commission, and also served on the boards of the Simplicity KiwiSaver Scheme and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei. Mel has also been a director at Waikato Tainui, Findex New Zealand, and Foundation North.

Mel is a strong advocate for good governance, and is a member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. Mel is passionate about making a difference in the lives of women and girls, and works to promote gender equality through their work with Global Women.
