Mazen Matar

Mazen Matar has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of hardware design and technical management. Mazen started their career in 2000 as an intern at Nortel Networks, where they gained exposure to hardware design and verification. Mazen then worked at Alpha Impex as a Hardware Designer, where they were involved in the design of a WiMax Transceiver. Later, they joined Flextronics Canada (Nortel) as a Hardware Verification Engineer, specializing in HW design verification for optical and electrical circuit assemblies. At BTI Photonic Systems, Mazen served as a Hardware and FPGA Designer, working on the redesign of existing shelf interface cards and providing support for high-speed traffic packs. Mazen then joined Fidus Systems as a Hardware and FPGA Designer, where they led the effort to introduce a new multi-format video system in chassis form. Mazen later took on the role of Technical Manager - Hardware Development and then Director of OEM Products, responsible for market analysis, product life cycle definition, and managing customer accounts and strategic relationships with suppliers and partners. In 2018, Mazen became the Director of Technical Sales and Business Development at Fidus Systems.

Mazen Matar earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Communications from the University of Ottawa in 2002. In 2006, they pursued further studies in Signal Integrity at Bogatin Enterprises. Later, from 2015 to 2017, they pursued a dual Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree at Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management and Queen's University, specializing in the field of business administration.
