Amirreza Shaban

Amirreza Shaban currently serves as the Vice President of Machine Learning at Field AI since February 2024. Prior to this role, Amirreza worked as a Senior Applied Research Scientist II at Cruise from October 2022 to February 2024. From June 2020 to October 2022, Amirreza was a Research Scientist and lead for the UW RACER Perception team at the University of Washington, overseeing a group focused on perception research for high-speed autonomous driving. Amirreza's earlier experience includes a position as a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology from January 2014 to January 2020, where research concentrated on low-shot learning for object recognition, detection, and segmentation. Additionally, Amirreza interned at Microsoft in the summer of 2019, developing a Multi-modal Transfer Module that achieved state-of-the-art results in various recognition tasks. Amirreza holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, completed in January 2019.
