FIELD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
Michael Dantonio, PhD, is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Field Museum since February 2023. Previously, Michael was a Graduate Student Researcher at Stanford University from September 2016 to December 2021, focusing on the long-term carbon cycle and the biology of an extinct group of trees from the Carboniferous Period, with goals set for addressing key questions in geology and evolutionary biology. Additionally, Michael served as a Teaching Assistant for various geological sciences courses at Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania, where independent research was conducted under Prof. Hermann Pfefferkorn. Michael holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Geological Sciences from Stanford University and completed a certificate program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Geology, Mathematics, and Classics from the University of Pennsylvania.
