Jackie Symmons is an experienced consultant specializing in wildlife conservation, climate change mitigation, and environmental resilience since June 2011. Current roles include Associate Tutor at the Field Studies Council, Independent Member of Glas Cymru at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, and Member of the Appeals Panel for Farmers and Forestry with the Welsh Government. Jackie also serves as Joint Regional Liaison Officer for Wales with the UK Ministry of Defence until March 2024 and previously held academic positions as a Lifelong Learning Tutor at Aberystwyth University and Hourly Paid Lecturer at the University of South Wales. Prior work experience includes serving as Wales Project Officer for The Deer Initiative from 1999 to 2011. Jackie holds a PhD in Ecological Impact and Management of Wild Deer in Wales from Bangor University, alongside a Master of Science in Wildlife Management & Control and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Rural Resource Science from the University of Reading.
