Richard Dawson is an experienced tutor and creative engagement consultant specializing in biodiversity and community art. Currently serving as an Associate Tutor for the Field Studies Council's Discovering Bees course, Richard introduces participants to the UK's diverse bee species. As a Creative Engagement Consultant for Buglife, Richard develops sessions that utilize different creative media to connect with varied demographics. Richard's extensive contributions to ecological monitoring include roles with the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, where expertise in identifying solitary bee specimens is applied. Additionally, Richard engages with local communities through pollinator projects with Monmouthshire County Council and has provided public art for several organizations, including the RSPB and Bletchley Park Trust. A freelance visual artist and maker since 2007, Richard actively participates in community arts projects while creating work for exhibitions and commissions, underpinned by a solid educational background from the Kent Institute of Art and Design.
