General Counsel at Figure

Ashley Harris is the current General Counsel at Figure, a company that is transforming financial services with blockchain. Prior to their current position, Ashley served as a Board Member for the Financial Technology Association from January 2021 to July 2022. Ashley has also held the position of General Counsel at Figure from May 2018 to August 2022 and at TechGC prior to that. From March 2016 to March 2018, Ashley was the General Counsel at Clara Lending, a digital lending platform that simplifies the customer experience and reduces the time and cost to originate a mortgage. Clara Lending was sold to SoFi in 2018. Prior to their work at Clara Lending, Ashley worked as an Executive Director & Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from September 2013 to March 2016. In this role, Ashley advised on new activities, capital investments and acquisitions and provided guidance to all lines of business on the application of new and existing U.S. regulations. Ashley also prepared U.S. bank regulatory applications and correspondence, served as a liaison with U.S. bank regulators, drafted firm-wide policies and legal interpretations of key regulations, and advocated for legislative and regulatory reform.

Ashley Harris has a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an A.B. from Brown University in International Relations and Latin American Studies. Ashley is certified by the State Bar of California as an Registered In-House Counsel and by the New York State Bar Association as an Attorney.
