Rui Castro

Rui Castro is an experienced software engineer and engineering manager. Rui began their career in 2003 as a Software Developer Trainee at Siemens S.A. Rui then went on to work at CCG - Centro de Computação Gráfica as a Software Developer & Researcher. In 2006, they joined Direção-Geral do Livro, dos Arquivos e das Bibliotecas (DGLAB) as a Software Architect and Developer. From 2010 to 2015, Rui worked at KEEP SOLUTIONS as a Software Architect and Full-Stack Developer, Infrastructure Director, and Information Security Manager. Rui then moved to PLATFORME International as a Software Architect and Full-Stack Developer, where they developed and integrated PLATFORME e-commerce solution with partner enterprise systems. In 2017, they joined Tynker as a Software Architect and Full-Stack Developer. From 2019 to 2020, Rui worked at Parkius as a Software Architect and Full-Stack Developer, where they developed micro-service architecture integrating with several 3rd party systems and an Angular frontend application. Rui also managed continuous integration and continuous delivery flows using Azure DevOps. In 2020, Rui joined Filestage as an Engineering Manager and Software Engineer. Additionally, they have been a Freelancer since 2013, specializing in the development of robust and scalable software like web applications and web services.

Rui Castro attended Escola Secundária Sá de Miranda from 1993 to 1997. Rui then went on to pursue a Licenciatura em Engenharia de Sistemas e Informática at Universidade do Minho from 1997 to 2006. In 2011, Rui Castro obtained an Introduction to Artificial Intelligence certification from Udacity.
