Alessandro Barbera is a Senior Financial Market Analyst at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) since August 2020 and also serves in a similar role at the Financial Stability Board (FSB) since July 2023. Prior experience includes an internship in the Economics Department at the European Investment Bank (EIB), where work focused on an impact assessment study of EIB-supported loans, as well as an internship in the Public Finance division of CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, participating in research on globalization's effects on economic outcomes. Additional internships were completed at the European Commission's DG ECFIN unit, concentrating on creating financial instruments for SMEs. Alessandro holds a Master of Science in Economics from UCL and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics and Finance from Università Bocconi, complemented by studies at Dartmouth College and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
