Valentina Pop

Valentina Pop currently serves as the FT Europe news editor and Europe Express newsletter editor at Financial Times since April 2021. Prior to this role, Valentina worked at The Wall Street Journal as a reporter focusing on EU politics and relations with the U.S. from March 2015 to March 2021. Experience also includes reporting for EUobserver.com, covering EU politics, the eurozone crisis, and democracy in Central and Eastern Europe from 2008 to March 2015. Valentina has served as a Berlin correspondent and has contributed freelance articles to The Economist on Romanian politics. Earlier roles include senior reporter at NewsIn and Europe reporter at Romania libera, with a focus on EU and transatlantic politics. Valentina holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures from Babes-Bolyai University and participated in a summer school in Political Journalism at Georgetown University.
