Niels Arne Dam has a diverse and extensive work experience. Niels Arne started their career in 2006 at the Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs as a Head of Section. Niels Arne then moved on to the Danish Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Interior and served as the Head of Division. In 2007, they joined Danmarks Nationalbank and held various roles such as Assistant Head of Division and Adviser. In 2015, they joined the Danish Ministry of Finance as the Head of Division. Niels Arne later worked at Finans Danmark as the Chief Economist and Executive Director of Analysis. In 2016, they also became a member of the Board of Directors at The Industrial Museum and the Danish Finance Institute. Niels Arne Dam's work experience demonstrates their expertise in finance, economics, and policy-making.

Niels Arne Dam began their education at Nørre Gymnasium, where they studied from 1992 to 1995. Niels Arne then attended the University of Copenhagen, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from 1995 to 1999. Continuing their studies at the same institution, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Economics from 1999 to 2003. During their master's program, they also attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2001 to 2002, specializing in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. In 2003, Niels Arne Dam pursued a PhD at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in Economics, which they completed in 2008. Additionally, they spent a year at Princeton University in 2003 to further their studies in Economics.
