Maria Blomberg has a diverse work experience in the banking and financial sector. Maria started their career as a Personal Banker Advisor at Nordea from 2000 to 2004. Maria then served as a Credit Analyst from 2005 to 2007 and later became a Team Leader in Regulatory Capital Analysis & Control from 2007 to 2011, both at Nordea. Blomberg joined Swedbank in 2012 as a Capital Adequacy Specialist until 2014. Maria worked at Finansinspektionen as a Senior Capital Adequacy Expert from 2014 to 2019, where they were also a member of various committees in the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Blomberg then transitioned to a Senior Advisor role at Finansinspektionen from 2019 to 2020. Maria'scurrent position is Deputy Director, Financial Risks at Finansinspektionen, where they lead the group Capital and Accounting and is a member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision's Policy and Standards Group.

Maria Blomberg attended The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences from 1997 to 2000, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. Following this, they enrolled at Stockholm University from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a specialization in Finance, General.
